REGINA SCHRECKER

Regina Schrecker is a world-renowned fashion designer and costume designer, formerly "Lady Universe" and muse of the great Pop Artist Andy Warhol, who portrayed her in a couple of artworks, which later became "icons" of her brand, launched in 1980. Her successful career includes important artistic collaborations, such as the one with Arnaldo Pomodoro, who "sculpted" the bottle of her perfume. In the 90s, she focused on emerging markets: Regina Schrecker was one of the first brands to bring the message of Italian fashion to countries like Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic , Japan and China, up to Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. She had countless events related to her creations, including an exclusive show of her wedding dresses in the ancient Buddhist temple Zen Kodai-ji of Kyoto, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the twinning between Florence and Kyoto (2005). Regina Schrecker has successfully carried on the activities of her brand, including Bridal collections, regularly presented at the most important Bridal Fashion Weeks, from Milan to Barcelona and New York, the new Bijoux collection (2015) , the new Make-up line, launched in 2016, and the "Regina Schrecker Glamor" collection (from 2017).

 Regina Schrecker has also created, with impeccable mastery, theatrical costumes for important works, including: "Madama Butterfly", a lyrical opera presented at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and restaged many times, also on world tour (from the 2005 International Exposition of Aichi / Nagoya, Japan, to Seoul with the Sugi Opera Company in 2017); "Snow White", a co-production between the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Syracuse University of New York, with the support of the Province of Florence, presented as a world premiere at the Piccolo del Teatro Comunale in Florence; Verdi's "Rigoletto" at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa (2013, restaged in Genoa in 2017 and at the Ljubljana Festival in 2018); and "La strega marzapane" (The Marzipan Witch) at Teatro Pavarotti of Modena, 2018.

 She received numerous awards and acknowledgements, for her unique style and creativity as well as for her entrepreneurial and social commitment, among which are: "The Best" Award, New York (1984), "Leone d'oro", Venice (1984), "Pegaso d'argento", Florence (1990), "Fiorino d'oro", Florence (1990), "Mela d’oro" from the Marisa Bellisario Foundation (1995), "Profilo Donna" Award (2006), Design Award at the Craiova Culture Festival (2015)," ModArt - Margutta Award"(2016), Semplicemente Donna International Award ( 2016) and the title of “Commendatore” of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2017).

 Recently, Regina has continued to ring a thrilling series of successes, including the exhibition "Once Upon a Time - Le spose di Regina Schrecker alla Corte dei Gonzaga" (The Brides of Regina Schrecker at the Court of the Gonzagas), at the Palazzo Ducale of Mantua (2017), and the participation as Guest of Honour at the XI Florence Biennale (Florence, Fortezza da Basso, 2017).
